Telescope Lending Program

CHECK OUT THE

CLAREMONT GALACTIC SPACE VIEWER

Friends of the Claremont Library and the Pomona Valley Amateur Astronomers (PVAA) are proud to introduce the Claremont Galactic Space Viewer, the "star" of the library's new Telescope Lending Program. Patterned after a similar program in New Hampshire, our library now has an Orion StarBlast Reflector telescope that can be checked out for a week at a time to patrons age 18 and older who have a library card. (Parents can check out the scope to use with their kids.) The Orion StarBlast is a sturdy tabletop telescope appropriate for beginners, and a user-friendly guide and other materials come with it. Our partnership with the PVAA includes their technical help and expertise as well as educational presentations at the library.

Check our astronomy reading list (to the right), and follow a fun astronomy blog here.
